Often described as the most innovative DJ to grace the Nigerian music scene, DJ Caise (pronounced ‘Case’) showcases creativity and sets an unparalleled bar for other DJ’s to follow. The University of Reading graduate has mastered the art of fusing local and international sounds creating an eclectic mix of what he terms ‘GidiHouseMusic’. Caise, real name Derin Phillips, has performed at prestigious nightclubs in the UK, US and Nigeria, entertaining audiences across the world. The music producer and remixer is known for a series of hit tracks including Lynxxx’s ‘International’, and the ‘Flashback vs. Implication’ mash-up, which has received major radio airplay and is featured on his forthcoming album – ‘Gidi House Mafia’.

Caise serenades audiences across Africa and has been seen at various major shows including the MTV Africa Music Awards 2010, the SoundCity Music Video Awards 2010, Music Meets Runway 2011,Hennessy Artistry Club Tour 2011 and much more. He represented Nigeria as the In-House DJ twice on Big Brother Africa Season 5 and 6, but resides at the Beat 99.9FM – Lagos’ leading radio station. His sets feature everything from Funky House to Afro Beat to Bashment to R&B and more, making him the most sought-out DJ among music industry luminaries.
